Summary: Ninomiya Kazunari along with his friend Aiba Masaki and Sakurai Sho has formed a band and despite being poor, they all try to follow their dream. In their neighborhood, there's a famous Art School and some of its students don't hesitate to 'accuse' them that what they're doing isn't music since none of them know how to read the notes on the musical pentagram. Among them, there's a mysterious student who never speaks; instead, he passes his evenings watching the three friends rehearsing in the old garage from across the street. Nino gradually finds himself becoming interested in him... feeling that he's different from the others. One day he has the chance to meet him in person... Could this encounter prove him right or even change his life?

Nino cursed under his breath when he saw the caller’s ID. “Good morning, Masa”

“How about we go to the arcade?” Masaki’s cheerful voice reached his ear.

Nino bit his lip. You always call me when I really don’t want you to... “I’m sorry Masa… I can’t make it…”

“Where are you? Nino… you know… it starts sounding suspicious… Where are you going every single Sunday morning? At first, I thought it was a coincidence but now I’m starting thinking that it might not be… What is going on?”

“Nothing…” Nino mumbled fast, praying that his friend would stop.

“This is not the answer I’m looking for, Nino… Tell me!”

Nino sighed. He knew that his friend could become mulish when he wanted to. “You like the songs that I’ve come up with these past few weeks, right?”

“Well…”

“I just want to concentrate on my own…”

“On your own…?! Nino, you realize that you were always on your own when you were writing the songs before… Remember how you accused me of being too loud? So that doesn’t count as an excuse… It must certainly be something else… or… someone… ah! That’s it! You got yourself a boyfriend! That’s why you’re always missing… you’re going on secret dates with him, aren’t you?!”

Nino was certain that a blush had covered both his cheeks at the hearing of Masaki’s words. Secret dates… of course our encounters aren’t dates… secret maybe… but dates… he shook his head fast as if he tried to get rid of the thoughts that kept climbing on his mind. Nino… you don’t want to fall into his stupid trap…

“You don’t speak… That means I was right! I can’t believe that you’d keep something as important as that a secret from me… I thought we were best friends and now you’ve made me so curious and-”

“Masa! Just because you are desperate to get yourself a boyfriend it doesn’t mean that everyone does… Stop assuming everything based on your criteria…” Nino cut his friend off.

“I’m not!” Masaki protested in a rather failing attempt to deny his friend’s claims but was immediately hushed by Nino.

“I’m not blind! I know you better than you think! We both know that it would be a lie saying that you don’t enjoy being with Sho-kun on your own… I have caught the way you look at him... who knows?! Being alone with him might help you finally get things on!”

“What… what are you talking about?! Me… and Sho…?! You… you’re being ridiculous, you know that?!” Nino wanted to burst into laughs when he heard the slightly embarrassed tone of his friend’s voice.

“I’ll catch up with you later, ok? I promise… perhaps there will be a new song to practice in the afternoon!” he added fast and hung up, placing his phone into his pocket. He took a deep breath to clear his mind up before continuing his walk towards the park with his guitar on his back.

It had already been two months since he had first spoken with Ohno Satoshi there and almost six weeks since he had made their encounter part of his weekly program. He was wondering why he woke up every Sunday morning early and met up with him every time. It wasn’t that he wanted to keep it a secret from his friends but he knew well that Masaki wouldn’t listen. He was open to other people, sweet and kind but was also quick-tempered and proud; differently perhaps from Sho, but still proud. Nino knew that Satoshi would be considered as one of the ‘others’ and he didn’t want that at any cost.

Satoshi was the sweetest person he had ever met. He was quiet… making his appearance almost invisible to the others… he preferred paying attention to the things he thought they were important… A shy smile appeared on Nino’s mouth as he realized that Satoshi would always pay attention to him… whenever he’d hear him play. His eyes were having a certain sparkle whenever he followed Nino’s hands on the strings, creating beautiful, as he claimed, sounds.

Could that mean that I’m important to him?! It was a tiny voice inside his head but still made his heart beat faster. Nino sighed, knowing that he couldn’t deny it anymore… even if it was just his mind playing with him, making him see things that might not even exist, he wanted to be someone important to Ohno Satoshi. He couldn’t be sure whether this feeling could translate into love or not… but it was there and day after day it was getting stronger.

He entered the park and quickly went up to the hill, meeting the cutest picture he thought he had ever seen. Satoshi sitting under his favorite tree with his knees close to his face, his hands tightly wrapped around them while his eyes were kept closed.

Nino came closer not saying a single word. In his eyes, the other seemed so peaceful and beautiful like that… like an angel.

“You finally came! You’re late! I was waiting for you!” Satoshi suddenly spoke and opened his eyes startling Nino who, without noticing, had already kneeled down only a couple of inches afar. “Good morning Nino-kun!”

“Oh… Ohno-kun… Were you sleeping?”

“No…” Satoshi said softly, shaking his head. “I was just listening…”

“To what…?” Nino asked frowning.

“Your music…”

“My music?! But…”

“I can always hear it Nino-kun… because I have it here…” he whispered pointing at his chest. “It’s so beautiful that it speaks to my heart…”

Nino felt his cheeks getting hotter. The other would always manage to say such beautiful things to him… he would always make him feel like a little girl obtaining her beloved senpai’s compliment.

“You always say such things…”

“I only say what I truly think… and that’s what I think about you…”

“Ohno-kun…” Nino whined feeling even more embarrassed.

“Hmmm… I’d say it’s time for us to focus on our art … Don’t you think so?” Satoshi replied asking, wanting to break the somehow intense silence that had been surrounding them for several minutes now.

Nino could only nod, as he saw the other sitting on the small wooden stool and taking the brush in his right hand ready to fill with colors the empty canvas in front of him. Finally, Nino felt completely relaxed and without turning his eyes away from him, he took his guitar in hand and started moving them up and down. It was weird… whenever he would be with Satoshi his fingers would immediately find the right chords… he would immediately create a melody. I guess you’re my muse…

As he started creating the new melody, he could focus only on the music and didn’t realize the other had stopped painting and kept his gaze locked on him. “Ohno-kun…?”

Satoshi stood up looking rather nervous. His hands were holding the tip of his T-shirt tightly and he sniffed his nose like he would always do whenever he was hesitating to say something. Nino couldn’t help but chuckle at that. It was one of the simple things that made the art student look adorable in his eyes. “You can say it…”

“What?” the other asked confused.

“Whatever it is that’s troubling you… you can say it…”

“I am… well… for my exams for oil painting… the professor asked us to submit a portrait… and well… I don’t like painting portraits… I prefer landscapes… places where your mind can travel… I was troubled about what I should do… and I had even thought to ask to be judged on something else… but…”

“But…?” Nino insisted not being sure where this would end up to.

“I… changed my mind… Till now I was never interested in portraits… but I already said that… anyway… I guess I was never interested because there was no one I wanted to have as a model…”

Nino thought his heart would crush against his ribs. “And… and now you found one you want…?” he asked, almost as a whisper.

“I want you to be my model, Nino-kun…”

“Me…?” Nino was left dumbfounded. Could it be true then? Am I really someone important to you?

“I want to paint something that speaks to my soul. Till now no one ever managed to do that… no one till I met you… I might have been looking at you for a while now but when I actually talked with you… listening to your ideas… speaking with passion about your dream… smiling widely when I couldn’t make my hands create a single sound with your guitar… blushing when I only speak of the truth… I want to grasp that feeling… all of your emotions… show to everyone who Ninomiya Kazunari truly is… and how much they’re missing…” Satoshi said slowly, as he grabbed both Nino’s hands in his. “Please…”

Nino couldn’t utter a word. He was left astonished… looking straight into those beautiful eyes that looked back at him, full of hope and anticipation.

“I…” he bit his lower lip “…will…”

Satoshi’s face lightened up as he hugged the other tightly. “Thank you!”

Nino felt his heart skip a beat as he felt the other’s upper body pressing against him... the hotness that it was emitting making him feel even hotter. I wish you could hold me in your arms like that forever… Satoshi…

“This is my cousin’s house…” Satoshi said as he opened the door. “I explained him the situation and he offered to help us…”

Nino only nodded as he walked behind the art student. It was a small apartment but seemed cozy. He was feeling nervous not because he was alone with the other but because he didn’t know if he could actually be the model the other wanted. He had just made his way to the living room when he suddenly heard a voice from behind.

“So this is Nino-kun…”

Nino turned around and saw a young handsome and, if he wanted to be honest, fashionable man, probably around their age, having his arms crossed in front of his chest and scanning Nino from head to toe.

“Jun… please…” Satoshi tried to speak up but the other came closer to Nino.

“He was telling me the truth… you are indeed very cute…”

“Jun…” Satoshi pleaded once again but was ignored.

“I get now why…” Jun said smirking.

“Why… what…?” Nino spoke reluctantly.

“It’s not my place to say…” Jun said once more in a mischievous tone before turning to Satoshi. “I’ll go now so that you can start with your portrait. There’s coffee in the kitchen and cookies on the right counter if you want… Good… inspiration… cousin!” and with that he winked and went out of the apartment leaving the two men alone in an awkward silence.

“Don’t pay attention to him… he always likes to pick up on me… do you… want some coffee first or…?” Satoshi was ready to go to the kitchen when Nino grabbed his wrist.

“It didn’t seem like teasing to me… your cousin… He meant something…”

“He…” Satoshi lowered his head. “I…”

“You…?” Nino whispered trying not to sound too desperate to hear those particular words from the other’s lips.

“I… I… like you… Nino-kun… I mean… I really like you… if you want to-”

Nino’s phone started ringing, causing Satoshi to stop the rest of the words he wanted to say.

“I need to get this…” Nino replied and pressed the answer button. “What is it Masa…?” he sighed, rubbing his forehead. “Of course I remember it! That’s why you called me?! Geez you really have the best timing…”

Satoshi could hear the one at the other end of the line speaking up loud.

“Yes… you’re disturbing me…” Nino said as he walked till he was standing right in front of the other. “You’re ruining the precious time I’m having with my boyfriend…” he said smiling widely, as he saw the way Satoshi’s face flashing from happiness. “Talk to you later, Masa!” he hung up and threw his phone on the sofa next to them.

“Do you… mean it?” Satoshi asked in a low voice, his hands wrapping around Nino’s slim waist.

Nino chuckled as he brought his hands around Satoshi’s neck. “Yes… I mean it… you see… I like you too… Satoshi…”

“Nin-”

“Call me Kazu… please…”

Satoshi’s hands tightened around Nino’s waist. “Kazu…” he whispered straight on the other’s mouth. “My Kazu…” and with that he locked their lips together, leading them into the sweetest kiss Nino had ever tasted.

“Shouldn’t we… start…? With the painting I mean…” Nino said hesitantly after having passed almost half an hour full of tender kisses and caresses.

“I think so too…” Satoshi replied smiling sheepishly taking Nino from his hand. “I want you to look at your guitar… thinking about something that makes you feel happy… deeply happy…”

Nino did as he was told, finding the nervousness he was feeling earlier rather ridiculous. Satoshi knew exactly what and how to pull out of him… he knew him well.

“We will have enemies… you know that, right?” Nino mumbled after he had put on his shoes, ready to leave.

“Probably… but I don’t care…”

“Sato-” Nino tried to speak up but was hushed by Satoshi’s lips.

“I don’t care because I have you by my side… and that’s everything I need… my Kazu…”

Finally our Ohmiya is together!!! :) Both Satoshi and Nino were shy and didn't want to say what they felt for each other... Thank God there was Jun to push things up a bit! xD
There's also a small hint of Sakuraiba - I couldn't stop myself from doing so.... xP - We'll see what their reactions will be when they find out about Ohmiya!
